Between the long shadows
Between the
long shadows
of the slipping sun
the spirit of
unspoken sorrows
hovers
trapped in its own
confusion
unable to tell
formless fact
from
fleeting fiction
Ducking and diving
it makes
hollow proclamations
of love
understanding neither
its entreaties
nor its
intent
yet knowing
beyond its own
shadows of doubt
the scourge
of its
endless exile.

It is fascinating the thoughts a words that arise out of a photo. An interesting photo as well. Love the poem
ReplyDeleteActually Joanne, I wrote the poem first (as I typically do) and then found the picture to go with it :). But, it did occur to me just yesterday, as I was looking for the picture that I might try doing it the other way around... :)
